Wednesday weekend forecast

Compiled by Aimee Genter-Gilmore, PQ Monthly

Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

Sunday evening, brand spanking new Portlander k.d. lang saunters and swaggers all over the Oregon Zoo Amphitheater stage for what is always guaranteed to be… a really big show. As a kid, I still clearly remember witnessing k.d. strut and swing in the Pee-Wee’s Playhouse Christmas Special, and while I initially thought k.d. might have been Pee-Wee in drag (no lie… I was a kid, and she was Canadian… I honestly didn’t know who she was) once I figured out she was a real person oozing with talent, I was hooked.

I have this theory that… you know… I’ll share that theory with you at another time. This is the “Wednesday weekend forecast,” not “Aimee has a theory.” I hope to see you at the zoo on Sunday!
