Wednesday weekend forecast

by Aimee Genter-Gilmore, PQ Monthly

Once fall comes, the calendar editor in me is tickled pink with all sorts of brand new events and get-togethers, along with the return of seasonal favorites. This weekend is a perfect example of “something for everyone.” Mariachi hottie Edna Vazquez kicks things off on Thursday, followed by the opening of the Portland Lesbian & Gay Film Festival on Friday (and a handful of awesome dance nights… my personal favorite being TWERK, if you’re into that sort of thing.) The Mr. Oregon Bear and Cub contest is Saturday’s big ticket (and for the less-scruffy, may I recommend Pervert the Cirque?). And then, of course, the lovely ladies of Darcelle’s bring back crowd favorite Hot Chocolate to break it all down Sunday night.
