MLK Day of Service

MLK Day of Service – Please join us on Monday, Jan. 18th in service to LGBTQ Homeless and At-Risk Youth in the Portland-Metropolitan Area

LGBT youth make up to 40 percent of homeless and at-risk youth. HRC, New Avenues for Youth and The Q Center invite you to partner with us on a service project benefiting LGBT homeless youth in our Portland community.

How can YOU make a difference?
By donating items and volunteering your time.

Donate Items or Organize a Donation Drive
By January 17, please help us collect the following items for the youth served by New Avenues for Youth/SMYRC and Q Center:

– Unopened travel-sized toiletries including soaps, shampoos, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, tampons/sanitary napkins, tissues
– New underwear and socks
– Sleeping bags
– Tarps
– Flashlights
– Backpacks
– Warm hats
– Small non-perishable snack and food items such as
– Fruit and nut bars, granola bars and energy bars
– Tuna and cracker packages
– Packets of nuts and dried fruit
