Glitter & Grit (femme truths on tour)

By Max Voltage, PQ Monthly

“I am the most honest when I am on stage.  I am the most myself.  I lay my heart bare in front of you, because if the world were safer, that’s the way I would live, all the time.” -Heather Acs, Living through Live Performance, Glitter & Grit

I have good news for you Portland! You’ll get the opportunity to see just that this Wednesday; live, honest, femme-driven art.  Featuring Heather María Ács of Heels on Wheels Roadshow, with the LAMBDA Award-winning, Glitter & Grit: Queer Performance from the Heels on Wheels Femme Galaxy, an anthology of risk-taking queer femmes and LGBTQ artists.

Add to that a side of Sossity Chiricuzio, the working-class femme whose dirty poems about fisting and skillful space-building made Dirty Queer magic, who is not only a PQ columnist, and Lambda fellow, but is also a contributor to Glitter & Grit.  Rumor has it she’ll be reading a piece from her new memoir.  And by rumor I mean, she told me.

Featuring special guests; some of Portland’s most exciting emerging writers including Alise Marie Sanchez, Galadriel Mozee, Samantha L. Taylor, Amari Fauna and Rios de la Luz.
