The Lambda Literary Foundation announced March 20 the finalists for its 24th Annual Lambda Literary Awards. The foundation had more publications to chose from this year than ever, with a record 600-plus titles nominated.

“For three consecutive years we have broken the records for both book nominees and publishers, which is extremely heartening in a time of uncertainty for the publishing industry as a whole, and LGBT publishing, in particular,” LLF Board of Trustees Co-Chair, David McConnell, says in a release.

Among those nominated is the anthology “Persistence: All Ways Butch and Femme,” published by Ivan E. Coyote & Zena Sharman (Arsenal Pulp Press) and featuring a contribution from Portland’s own Belinda Carroll.

“I hope we win. I’ve always wanted to win a Lambda!” Carroll says.
